NEW PRODUCTS HELP CATERERS CLEAN UP THEIR ACT

Product Press Release

The Country Range Group has expanded its line-up of cleaning products for 2010, in response to the growing pressure on caterers to think more carefully about their levels of food hygiene.

Since January 1, 2006, changes in legislation have required all food businesses to have a documented food safety management system showing how they ensure safe food.

To assist smaller caterers and retailers, the Food Standards Agency, in consultation with the catering industry, produced the Safer Food Better Business pack, a working tool devised to help identify potential hazards in relation to cooking, chilling, cross contamination and cleaning.

Country Range Group managing director Colin Birchall said, more so than ever before, there is absolutely no room for complacency in professional catering.

“Behind the scenes in a commercial kitchen, it’s vital to eliminate the prospect of food poisoning from poor hygiene and cross contamination by keeping equipment and surfaces super clean,” he said.

With this in mind, Country Range Group has added two new products to its Professional range – a Food Safe Sanitiser and a Heavy Duty Degreaser, both available in 5ltr bottles. Also new is a Professional range of Essential Napkins, in two sizes. Starting with white, a choice of colours will follow.

Available for the first time are 10ltr bottles of own-brand Essential Machine Dishwash and Essential Machine Glasswash, in addition to the already popular 5ltr sizes.

Country Range Group has also introduced retail-style 500ml, pump-action bottles of its Bactericidal Hand Soap, previously only available in 1ltr and 5ltr containers. A 750ml swan-necked container is a new addition to its Thick Bleach range.

“Understanding the market we supply is second nature to us,” said Birchall. “Equally as vital, however, is knowing about, and acting upon, external market forces that are impacting on our customer base and forcing them to be as competitive as possible in difficult trading conditions. The constant pressure to maintain standards whilst reducing costs is a battle that CRG thrives upon and these new products should help our customers keep on top of these daily pressures.”
